Kommunal Kustom. Launch of the 2022 Kommunal Build Series.

Honda Nx650 Dominator Scrambler Custom Kustom Kommune

Wrenching with your mates on a custom bike is the epitome of what our moto community is about. Form, function and friendship: Kommune to a tee. When many greasy hands come together to get a dream across the line, it’s poetry in motion, so in this spirit we’re rolling out our first Kommunal Kustom: a design + build project kicking off next Thursday 20th January 6-8pm.

We’ve got a Dominator NX650 donor, we want to build a custom scrambler, Rust-to-Radical is the mission and we need a crew of keen DIY’ers to make it happen!

It doesn’t matter why you want to build a custom bike, it’s enough that you have decided to.
– Gary Inman, How To Build a Motorcycle

All ages, genders, members and non-members are welcome and you don’t need to be a mechanical genius either- the more diverse the better. Maybe you’ve never had a crack at a custom build but you lay awake at night thinking about it. Maybe a lack of time and resources has stunted your custom dreams (pretty sure most of us know that feeling). Perhaps you’ve got a valuable skill and can mentor others to keep the project flowing along nicely. If so, we want to hear from you.

What this project really comes down to is forging solid bonds with like-minded people and channeling our collective enthusiasm into a unique and rideable machine that we can all be proud of. We’ve already decided that the Dominator’s destiny is to become the first bike in our Member’s Fleet, so if you’ve got a mate in town who needs a ride, or you need a dirty weekend away, or you just want to get a feel for a scrambler, the Dominator is yours to borrow- it will belong to all members.

Every Thursday 6-8pm for 11 weeks.
Session One 20th January.

15 places available, RSVP via Facebook by Tuesday 18th.
